Mena is a current events writer for Dear Asian Youth's literature department. She is currently a high school junior based in sunny San Diego, California, and will pursue journalism and linguistics in her future. With two protests she's successfully organized at her school fighting for effective educational policy and national gun control, she's politically curious and dedicated to writing accurate, nuanced articles for DAY reader to stay connected with the world. If she isn't napping somewhere, she's recording original music in her voice memos, looking at restaurant menus (while mourning her tragic wallet), editing graphics for a school club, or studying at her favorite local cafe.
